Face-to-Face Classes either at our Bourke Street Training Centre or from home (via a Virtual Platform – Zoom).

OPTION 1: WEEKLY CLASSES (2 Days per Week)

Duration: 7 months

Hours of Attendance: Tuesdays AND Thursdays 9.30 am – 4.00 pm

(Student support scheduled 4.00 pm – 4.30 pm)

 

OPTION 2: WEEKLY CLASSES (1 Day per Week)

Duration: 15 months

Hours of Attendance: Tuesdays OR Thursdays 9.30 am – 4.00 pm

(Student support scheduled 4.00 pm – 4.30 pm)

 

OPTION 3: FORTNIGHTLY CLASSES (1 Day per Fortnight)

Duration: 14 months

Hours of Attendance: Saturdays* 9.30 am – 4.00 pm

(Student support scheduled 4.00 pm – 4.30 pm)
*The majority of classes are scheduled every second Saturday (excluding public holidays)

 

Please Note: 

  • In addition to the above scheduled class times, you will be required to complete a small amount of homework (approximately 2 -5 hours per week)
  • You will also complete approximately 10 days of practical placement (placement can be scheduled on a day that best suits you)

Am I eligible for Skills First Government Funded Training?

Government Subsidised Training is available to all Australian/New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents who meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Aged between 15 – 19 years on 1 January in the year of course commencement OR ANYONE (regardless of age) gaining a higher qualification than they already hold
  • Participating in and/or have enrolled to commence in LESS than two other government funded training courses in the year of course commencement (this includes courses listed in the Approved Foundation Skills List)
  • Have not already commenced two government funded courses at the same Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level as the course they are seeking to enrol in now
  • Have a physical presence in Victoria and be able to attend face-to-face delivery at our Melbourne campus (Level 6, 246 Bourke Street, Melbourne) or participate in training via our virtual platform
  • Participating in a Skills First approved course (our Certificate III in Business is approved for Government Funding!)

I’m considering enrolling in the business administration course. What happens if the current COVID-19 situation worsens, and we go back into another lockdown?

Our priority remains to continue to deliver quality training while minimising the risk of exposure to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We take the well-being and health of our students and staff most seriously. Suzan Johnston management monitors the Coronavirus situation and the status of any outbreaks. Our decisions are guided by the authorities’ advice, including the Department of Health and Department of Education and Training.

The good news is that our small classroom training format is very much within government-mandated guidelines of what is safe and permissible.

Whilst it is safe to do so, we will continue to deliver this qualification within the classroom, however, if the Covid-19 situation worsens; our classes will migrate to ‘Virtual’ delivery where our training team will continue to deliver your regular classes to you (within your home) via Zoom.

Do I have to find my own Practical Placement/Work Experience?

During our full-time Certificate III in Business Administration course you will undertake 10 days of industry placement. This Practical Placement opportunity is also open to part-time students who wish to participate in the experience.

Over the past 62 years, Suzan Johnston Australia has forged strong relationships within the corporate world and has a bank of employers who regularly host students of our business administration courses during practical placement. Our current hosts include employers from a wide variety of industries including legal, real estate, medical, accountancy, educational, architectural, employment agencies and interior design firms. Your trainer will arrange your practical placement with a suitable host, taking into consideration your preference for industry, job role and geographic location.

Other than the training sessions, how much homework will I be expected to do?

With our Certificate III in Business Administration, your attendance of scheduled classes is important as every lesson is packed full with important information, dynamic discussions, hands-on practical exercises, role-plays, games and activities. During the business administration course the majority of your learning will be done within the classroom however, some additional learning activities and also your final assessment tasks will need to be completed as homework. We expect our students to dedicate approximately 4 – 7 hours per week as homework time.

I don’t cope very well with stressful exams – Help!

Well, you’re in luck! Our Certificate III in Business Administration course does not include any stressful written tests or exams. The entire course is highly task orientated and all assessments are designed as practical exercises in the form of written Q&A’s, role plays and short presentation. Your trainer will assist and provide you with learning support you whilst you complete these tasks.

All our business administration course students have the opportunity to participate in Suzan Johnston’s signature personal development lessons that are specifically designed to enhance confidence, communication skills and job-readiness. Will I need to buy textbooks?

To enrol in our business administration course:

Step 1: Contact us to arrange an appointment/interview time

Step 2: Attend your interview session at our training centre. This interview will be extremely relaxed and informal. You will be given the opportunity to learn more about our business courses, ask lots of questions, tour our training centre and to observe our business admin classes ‘in action’.

Step 3: During the interview, should you decide to proceed with your enrolment you will have the opportunity to:

  • sit a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment
  • complete your enrolment documentation with our assistance
  • have your eligibility and your enrolment in our BSB30415 Certificate III in Business Administration course confirmed on the spot
